Culture includes the traditions, norms, practices, beliefs, manner, and antiquity of a shared group passed down over a period of time. Culture affects each one of us implicitly and explicitly. Julie walks with each client as they discover and own the parts of their individual culture that they choose to embrace in their journey to holistic health. A part of our cultural journey can include generational and\/or historical trauma. Historical trauma can affect as much as seven generations before and after us when not addressed. Julie takes a humble and curious approach when working with people of cultures that differ from her own and <strong>knows<\/strong> that you are the expert on your own heritage and culture. It is my pleasure and privilege to walk alongside you as you explore and experience a cultural awakening that is conducive to genuine healing. Julie understands the value of indigenous and ancient healing practices, many of which have been appropriated and monetized by the current mental health industry with little or no recognition of the indigenous roots of the practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Culture is an important aspect of the counseling journey.
